Where Taskee is stronger
- No user cap on the free plan. Taskee’s 11th, 30th or 100th user costs nothing; Jira’s 11th person moves the whole team to Standard at $7.91 per user per month.
- Five times the free storage — up to 10 GB against Jira Free’s 2 GB.
- Nothing to configure before the first task. Boards, time tracking and reports work on day one, without a project template or a permission model to pick first.
Where Jira is stronger
- Free already covers 10 users and 2 GB, and it is not a stripped demo: the plan description lists backlog, board, timeline and reports.
- Standard is $7.91 per user per month with 250 GB of storage; Premium is $14.54 with unlimited storage, 24/7 support and a 99.9% uptime SLA.
- Automation runs 1,000 rule runs per user per month on paid tiers. Taskee has none at any price.
- A scrum and workflow layer — backlog management, custom workflows, story points — that Taskee does not compete in.
Who should choose Taskee
- The team has already crossed, or will cross, Jira’s 10-user free ceiling and the budget is zero.
- Nobody asked for sprints, story points or a workflow engine — just tasks, boards and hours.

What Taskee does not have yet
Taskee is a young product and the honest list of what it does not do is short but real, as of 2 September 2026:
- No standalone mobile app. The FAQ says it plainly: Taskee is adapted for the mobile browser and can be saved to the home screen, but there is no iOS or Android app.
- No native connectors. There is a documented REST API with 140 endpoints and a published OpenAPI 3.0 specification, plus CSV export, but no ready-made Slack, Google or Jira integration and no webhooks — see Taskee integrations.
- No Gantt chart or timeline view.
- No automation rules.
- Several features are marked “Soon” on the site — project budgeting, quick tasks, personal projects, custom reports and others. Roadmap is not delivery, and nothing on this page counts them as shipped.
Where the free plan actually runs out
Jira Free is not stingy on paper: 10 users, 2 GB of storage, and a plan description that lists backlog,
board, timeline and reports, with community support. The wall shows up at person eleven, when the whole
workspace moves to Standard at $7.91 per user per month and storage rises to 250 GB. For a team of 15 that
is roughly $1,423 a year. Premium, at $14.54 per user per month, removes the storage cap and adds a 99.9%
uptime SLA with 24/7 support — figures aimed at teams where downtime has a cost.
Taskee has no equivalent wall, because it has no paid tier. The user count is not limited and storage is
capped at 10 GB in total, not per person. What Jira buys instead is a much deeper product: backlog grooming,
custom workflows and a permission model built for software teams running several projects at once. A team of
five doing lightweight task tracking gains nothing by paying for that depth; a team of thirty running a
formal software process gains nothing usable by staying free.
What stands in for a workflow engine
Taskee has no schemes, no per-project statuses and no transition rules. What it has is a REST API with 140
endpoints and a published OpenAPI 3.0 specification covering projects, tasks, checklists, comments, tags,
reported hours, reports, users and roles — see Taskee integrations. That is
enough to script a migration or bolt on a custom step, and it is not a substitute for Jira’s
configuration layer. If the requirement is sprints, backlogs or a workflow that enforces who may move a ticket
where, Jira is the honest answer and Taskee is not a fit.
